What We Need
We are currently seeking an Accounting Clerk/Bookkeeper to join our head office team. This challenging position entails all aspects of bookkeeping, including receivables, payables and payroll in a fast-paced, friendly and positive work environment.
Responsibilities:
Full spectrum of accounting and bookkeeping duties including but not limited to the following:
- Accounts receivable: daily compilation and invoice orders, bank deposits and electronic payment, customer statements, collection of outstanding accounts.
- Manage all aspects of sales orders including reconciliation of services included on customers invoices to ensure that all costs are being recovered and ensuring the accuracy of commission payable.
- Accounts payable: daily posting of vendor invoices, maintenance of purchase orders and inventory modules, ensure supporting documentation for invoices in place prior to posting.
- Batch electronic payments in multiple payment platforms.
- Payroll: biweekly and semi-monthly payrolls, multiple jurisdiction WCB remittance, ROE, T4s.
- Monthly collection of bank and credit card accounts, monthly GST reporting, other federal reporting.
- Monthly preparation of full financial reporting, sales reporting, special ad hoc reporting
- Maintenance of integrated accounting, purchasing, inventory management system.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Task prioritization, time management and organizational skills – ability to manage multiple deadlines, determine priority and get tasks completed
- Self-starter – ability to identify areas of improvement and do the work
- Ability to manage large volume of transactions weekly
- The ability to use Spire software, Microsoft Office – Excel and Word and quickly learn additional software programs is essential.
- Self-confidence/maturity
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree, Business College or Business Administration Diploma with accounting major strongly preferred.
- Accounting experience in the manufacturing industry considered an asset.
- Willing to train the right candidate.
