Nor'Wester View Public School

Nor’Wester View School, a part of the Lakehead District School Board in Thunder Bay, Ontario had the opportunity to work with us one on one to design their perfect play space. The most important aspect of this project was accessibility and the growing need for a more accessible playground was apparent through the initial design phase. We took care to design a space that addressed inclusion by featuring multiple ground-level play components while challenging diverse skill levels with a great monkey bar circuit which is linked to the structure. Stainless steel slides were chosen for the ultimate in vandal-resistance and durability, with the added benefit that they are cochlear-implant friendly. For seating, the customer chose our popular Buddy Benches. Artificial turf surfacing was chosen for accessibility. Installing equipment on the Canadian Shield is always a challenge, but thanks to our experience and expertise with this type of terrain, we were able to deliver this project in a timely manner before school opened back up in early September.
