“Steel” the Fun!

Kitchener, Ontario

Suddaby Public School

Suddaby Public School was seeking an especially sturdy playground that could withstand vandalism as well as wear and tear. To meet this demand, we designed the entire structure without any plastic elements. Powder-coated steel components provide vandal-resistance and long-lasting play value. The school also wanted a looping design that allowed the kids to play grounders and navigate the entire structure without touching the ground. An additional challenge was installing the playground amongst the beautiful established tree canopy. The completed projected features a diverse climbing, hanging, balancing and sliding activities to engage a wide range of skills and abilities situated in a well-treed location, providing natural beauty and shade on those hot, sunny days.
