This vibrant, inclusive playground has the honour of being Canmore Alberta’s first fully inclusive play space! The playground was designed with valuable input from Rocky Mountain Adaptive to ensure that the design delivered the best possible options, allowing all children to play together and enjoy a rich range of physical, sensory and social experiences. The play space that goes beyond accessibility to create play experiences that meet a variety of needs and interests, enabling children of all ages, stages and abilities — as well as their caregivers — to interact with each other and do what everyone wants to do: PLAY!

From the wheelchair-accessible spinner and ground-level play elements through to the ramped main play structure and the calm zone, this multi-faceted playground incorporates a vibrant diversity of playground equipment. Bright, fun colours lift spirits and ignite excitement, inspiring children explore the playground.

One of the key features of the play space is the All-Around, a universally accessible merry-go-round where children or caregivers with mobility devices of any kind can roll on board and enjoy the thrill of spinning. Users with mobility challenges will also enjoy navigating the ramp to roll on to the Tippy Canoe which is mounted on giant springs to provide bouncing fun and social interaction for multiple users. In addition, multiple other ground-level activities round out the play, ensuring that children who are unable to climb can enjoy the action.

Meanwhile for those who love clambering and climbing,  the central structures delivers just that, along with the sliding thrills on the bright blue spiral tube slide or the zippy deep dippy slide. Meanwhile, the junior structure provides climbing and slidign activities for younger children while a panel grouping located off to the side offers a place calming play where kids can relax and reset with calming sensory activities. The rope climbers, climbing wall and monkey bars create a fun fitness equipment area for the older or more adventurous kids. With swinging delights and accessible adventures, this playground promises boundless joy for children of all abilities!
